They were able to taste the new wines of the excellent 2018 vintage, as well as share a moment of conviviality with the Grand Vin Mousseux Rosé de Montreux. Thanks to Peter Slade, the teacher who accompanied them.
Mondial des Pinots 2018, Vinea Sierre
Among the 1100 wines presented by 361 producers from 21 countries, La Cave Vevey-Montreux won a gold medal for its Pinot Noir 2015, as well as a silver medal for its Pinot Noir 2017. Mr Florian Beretta, oenologist at La Cave Vevey-Montreux, received his prize from the godfather of the 21st edition of the Mondial des Pinots, the Spaniard Mr Pedro Ballesteros, Master of Wine, who praised the "Pinot des Montagnes (i.e. Pinot grown and vinified in Switzerland), a landscape much more typical and different from the Pinot des Plaines...".

Réception officielle de la Commune de Montreux
On Wednesday 11 July 2018, nearly 600 guests attended the official reception of the Municipality in honour of the Montreux Jazz Festival, including Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis and Vaud State Councillor Jacqueline de Quattro.
Every year, representatives of the political, diplomatic, cultural, economic and financial worlds and media gather at the Fairmont le Montreux Palace to attend the city's reception in honour of the Montreux Jazz Festival. The many twin towns or towns with which the Commune has signed friendship agreements are also invited to this reception,
underlining the cosmopolitan vocation of the places.
Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis also praised the national and international aura of Montreux, and even designated the city "capital of Switzerland": musical capital in any case, during the Montreux Jazz Festival!
